Federal Government Issues Approval for Gullah Geechee Corridor

The Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor plan has officially been approved by the Office of the Secretary of the Interior, according to officials. Established by federal legislation in 2006, the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor is the only one of 49 National Heritage Areas that promotes the living culture of an African-American population.
